During this phase of our estate planning process, you will become more financially organized than ever before. You will provide us with basic contact information and begin to indentify your goals and concerns using our Legal Life Design questionnaire. We will respond to your Legal Life Design questionnaire with a Confirmation of Missing and Important Information or a "CIMI". Your CIMI will be valuable in itself, whether you choose to work with us or not, as it will contain a snapshot of your entire financial life. We will guide you through this process. We are available by phone or email without having to worry about getting a bill 2 weeks later for a 5 minute phone call as we never charge by the hour.
This is the first meeting in our 3-meeting process. In it we will discuss, in detail, your background, family, goals, concerns, and any issues identified in the Legal Life Design Questionnaire that require further consideration. Together, we will work through the details of your chosen plan to create a customized estate plan strategy that meets your goals while addressing your concerns.
In our second meeting we will review your documents to ensure that you understand your estate plan and that it meets your goals and objectives. At this point, you will sign the legal documents to implement your estate plan.
At this final meeting, we deliver your executed estate planning documents in a well organized estate planning portfolio with everything you need to ensure that beneficiaries are correctly designated and that trusts are correctly funded which ensures your plan is effective and works as designed.
"Mr. Barry is a professional, intelligent, and caring attorney who helped me through a process I was unsure about. He was knowledgeable and always responded to my questions in a timely manner. He helped me resolve this matter quickly and easily.
"Very knowledgeable and stayed super involved throughout the duration of my case, made me feel like I had someone fighting for me not just pushing paper and setting court dates. Luke was super friendly and patient and very understanding of my situation and helped me find and use every avenue available to get the best possible outcome I could get, I would recommend him to any family member or friend.
Dogwood Estate Planning offers clients the option to meet virtually by videoconference with tools such as Zoom or Google Meet. Our clients can now schedule and attend an estate design session, execute and notarize important documents, and finalize their estate plans from the comfort of their kitchen table. We have found that this way of designing and planning estates brings flexibility and convenience to the entire process for both the client and attorney and we encourage our clients to take advantage of it.
